Boiled egg with herbs is a delicious Assamese well egg dish.
Ingredients
- Boiled egg: 1 Mix herbs of your choice: 100 gms Sliced onion: 1 small Crushed garlic: 1 tsp Crushed green chillies: 2-4
- Fenugreek seeds: 10 Salt, pepper powder and turmeric powder: as required Mustard oil: 1 tbp
Method
Step 1
Make 4 pieces of the egg. Wash the herbs and pressure cook with a cup of water. When cool mash it. Heat oil in a karai. Temper fenugreek seeds.
Step 2
Add the crushed garlic and fry till lightly brown. Add the sliced onion, green chillies and a pinch of turmeric powder. When the onions are soft add the herbs along with its juice. Bring to boil and add salt to taste.
Step 3
Cook covered upon low heat for 7 minutes or till done. Add pepper powder and taste for salt. Serve with the egg pieces.
