Glazed chilli chicken Sweet and sticky honey, chilli and ginger chicken for special occasions or a quick supper.
Ingredients
- 1 and 1/2 inch chicken pieces: 600 gms Soya sauce: 2 tbsps Chilli sauce: 2 tbsps Vinegar: 2 tbsps Capsicum pieces (large) : 2 medium
- Ginger paste: 1 tsp Garlic paste: 2 tsps Small onion (quartered): 4 Cornflour: 2 tsps Salt: to taste
Method
Step 1
Take the chicken pieces in a large bowl. Add vinegar and soya sauce and mix. Marinate for about 20 minutes. Heat oil in a heavy karai and fry the capsicum pieces for about 15 seconds and drain. Fry the onion for about 20 seconds.
Step 2
Drain the chicken pieces and fry stirring continuously for about 3 minutes. Add the marinated juice and salt to taste. Add the ginger and garlic and cover tightly. Simmer upon medium heat.
Step 3
When the chicken is almost done add the chilli sauce with a little water and stir. When the chicken is done sprinkle the cornflour and stir with a flat wooden spoon. Serve chilli chicken decorating it with the fried capsicum.
