Ingredients
- Dressed chicken: 750 gms Onion paste: 2 tbsps Poppy seed paste: 2 tsps Kismis paste: 1 tbsp Mustard oil: 3 tbsps
- Crushed Cardamom: 6 Bay leaf: 1 Chilli powder: 1 level tsp turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp Salt: to taste Pure ghee: 1 tsp
Method
Step 1
Make large pieces of the chicken. Steam cook the pieces till half done. Strain and keep aside the chicken juice. In a karai heat oil. Fry the crushed cardamom and bay leaf till it changes colour. Fry the onion paste till brown. Sprinkle water a couple of times while frying.
Step 2
Add the chilli powder, turmeric powder ans stir for awhile. Add the poppy seed and kismis paste. Also add the chicken pieces. Upon medium heat stir for about a minute. Cover and stir occasionally. When dry add the chicken juice. May add a little water.
Step 3
When the chicken is almost done increase heat and stir with a flat wooden spoon. When done add pure ghee stir and cover. Switch off the gas. Enjoy as a starter in BHUGALI BIHU bhuj.
