Ingredients
- Fish head-400 gms Papaya flower: 50 gms Chopped onion: 1 medium Finely sliced pumpkin: 2 tbsps Sliced tomato: 1 medium Crushed garlic: 1 tsp
- Crushed ginger: 1 level tsp Cumin powder: 1/2 tsp Fennel powder: 1/2 tsp Crushed cardamom: 4 Pure ghee: 1 tsp
- Mustard oil: to fry the fish head Mustard oil (for the preparation): 3 tbsps Salt: to taste Sliced green chillies: 2-4
Method
Step 1
Make 4 pieces of the fish head and wash well. Drain Fry the fish head pieces evenly. Clean the papaya flowers and wash. Boil the papaya flowers in boiling water for a minute and drain.
Step 2
Heat oil in a wok and fry the cardamom. Add the chopped onion and fry till it starts to brown. Add the onion paste, crushed garlic and ginger and fry upon medium heat. Sprinkle a little water and add the cumin and fennel powder.
Step 3
When oil floats to the top add turmeric powder. Add the pumpkin and fry for a minute. Add the tomatoes, salt,fish head and the papaya flowers. Stir upon medium heat for about 2 minutes. Add hot water and slit green chillies. Bring to boil and simmer till done. Add the pure ghee. Stir. Cover and switch off the gas. After 2 minutes serve hot with boiled rice.
