Ingredients
- Meat: 1 kg Fig leaves: ½ kg Indigenous soda (kola khar): ¼ cup Ginger: 25 gms Garlic: 25 gms
- Green chillies: 10 Rice powder: 3 tbsps Salt: to taste
Method
Step 1
Water: as required Make small pieces of the meat, wash and drain. Clean the leaves, wash and drain well. Crush the leaves well in a uraal(a traditional mortar). Peel the ginger and garlic and wash. Crush the ginger, garlic and green chillies. In a large wok put the crushed leaves and add the indigenous soda.
Step 2
Stir for awhile and add about 500 ml water and salt to taste When the leaves are about half done add the meat pieces Add salt to taste and add water as desired. Also add the crushed ginger, garlic and green chillies. When the meat is properly cooked add water as desired.
Step 3
Cook till the meat blends with the leaves. Mix the rice powder with a little water and add to the meat. Stir well and cook for about 3 more minutes stirring. Serve warm with rice.
