Ingredients
- Pork: 1 kg Onions: 3 medium sized Ginger: 1 ½ inch long Garlic: 1 whole Green chillies: 3
- Turmeric powder: 1 tsp Fermented bamboo shoot: 4 tbsps Hot water: 500 ml Salt: to taste
Method
Step 1
Clean and cut the pork into serving portions. Peel the onions and wash. Chop the onions. Peel and wash the ginger. Peel and wash the garlic.
Step 2
Make a paste of the ginger, garlic and red chillies. Heat a heavy bottom pan and upon medium heat put the pork pieces and cover. Cook stirring occasionally till the fat comes out and the meat turns brown.
Step 3
Take the pork out of the pan and in the fat of the pork fry chopped onions, ginger, garlic and chilli paste. When brown add turmeric powder, salt and pork. Fry for sometime.
Step 4
Add the bamboo shoot. Stir for about five minutes. Add the hot water and bring to boil. Simmer covered upon low heat. When the meat is done and the gravy thickens remove the pan from fire. Serve hot with steamed rice.
