Baanhgajor logot patha manxo

Baanhgajor logot patha manxo is a delicious Assam recipe with meat and bamboos.

Ingredients

  • Mutton: 500 gms Grated bamboo shoot: 100 gms Sliced onion: 2 medium Chopped onion: 1 medium Garlic paste: 2 tsps
  • Ginger paste: 1 tsp Chopped green chillies: 2-4 Sliced tomato: 2 medium Mustard oil: 4 tbsps
  • Bay leaves: 2 Cumin seed: 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder: 1/2 Salt: to taste

Method

Step 1

Make desired size pieces of the meat, wash and drain well. Take the meat in a bowl and add sliced onion, ginger paste, garlic paste and a tbsp of oil. Sprinkle a little salt, turmeric powder and rub well with hands. Cover and marinate for an hour.

Step 2

Take the meat in a pressure cooker and bring to full pressure. Reduce heat and keep for 5 minute. Switch off the gas. When slightly cool open. In a karai heat the remaining oil. Fry the bay leaves and cumin seeds till brown.

Step 3

Add the chopped onion and fry till brown. Add the tomatoes and and stir fry till soft. Add the bamboo shoot and the hot mutton. Sprinke salt to taste and the green chillies.

Step 4

Stir cook for a minute and sprinkle salt to taste. Cover and cook stirring occasionally. When done remove cover. Add chopped chillies and stir for awhile. Garnish and serve.
