Butor Dailor Lagot Kumolia Sajina Pat (Bengal Gram with Drumstick Leaves) Recipe.
Ingredients
- Bengal gram: 200 gms Yellow dal: 10 gms Drumstick leaves: 60 gms Sliced onion: 2 medium Slit green chillies: 2 Mustard oil: 2 tbsps Dry chilli: 1
- Fennel seeds: a pinch Fenugreek seeds: about 12 Asafoetida: a pinch Bay leaf: 1 Turmeric powder: ½ tsp Salt and sugar: to taste Water: 750 ml
Method
Step 1
Wash the drumstick leaves and drain. Clean the dal, wash and put it in the pressure cooker. Add the water and soak for an hour. Add salt, turmeric powder, sugar and slit green chillies. Cook in the pressure cooker till tender. Heat oil in a karai.
Step 2
Temper with dry chilli, fennel seeds, fenugreek seeds asafoetida and bay leaf. Add the sliced onion and the drumstick leaves. Stir upon medium head for about 1 ½ minute. Add the hot boiling dal and cook till the dal thickens. Add pure ghee, stir and cover.
Step 3
Switch off the gas. After about 2 minutes open cover. Serve with rice or chappatis.
